Individual Patient Assistance

The NKF Foundation offers help to patients on a personalized basis. “Nancy’s Friends” program coordinators identify patients with specific needs to whom the foundation can offer assistance beyond the customary care. For example, NKFF gave financial assistance to Chinese patient Qin Chen. The stipend helped allow Chen, who had just arrived alone in the US from China when she received her diagnosis, to live in the New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Helmsley residence in-between her hospital-based treatments. The NKF Foundation was also able to grant Tyler Millington, a Brooklyn teenager who was one month too old to be considered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his dream to meet his favorite football stars at a Jets training facility.
