Valentine’s Day Caroling
Talented middle school and high school students entertain patients annually with their beautiful voices and giving spirits. Caroling down the oncology unit hallways, the NKFF Singers delight patients, their visitors, and hospital staff with uplifting song selections. Light refreshments accompany the performances.
Studies show that music can produce measurable physical and psychological benefits for patients. According to the Journal of Advanced Nursing, listening to music can reduce chronic pain up to 21 percent and alleviate depression by 25 percent. Other studies link music to lowering blood pressure and anxiety in hospital patients.
